Review of Focus (2015) by Nic J — 12 May 2015
Slick, stylish and short of what it could have been. Though not original, the premise of "Focus" is developed well early on, then slides into a slow fade. Ficarra and Requa don't do much outside of safe territory with their second effort in the director's chair.
Despite it's glits and glam, "Focus" is a slightly above-average caper, but ultimately depends on how well its viewers can believe the chemistry between Smith and Robbie... and that might be the film's most difficult con.
Rated 3 out of 5. Reviewed 5/12/15.
