Review of Focus (2014) by Shane B — 03 Jul 2015

For the most part I really enjoyed focus, I found it to be a really entertaining con movie with some smart twists and turns. The film owes a great deal to Will Smith and Margot Robbie who show great chemistry throughout. Will Smith's "Nicky" is extremely charismatic and likable, it's good to see Smith back to himself.

The directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa blend genres together very well, comedy, action, drama and romance can be found throughout focus. This film also looks fantastic and the cinematography is shot brilliantly with top class lighting and set designs.

However I felt the football scene was a bit over the top and the conclusion to that scene was quite ridiculous. That and some underdeveloped characters like the antagonist "Garriga", were the only things that brought it down a scale.
