Review of Focus (2014) by Atelston H — 03 Sep 2015
This movie was interesting for myriad of reasons; it's highly ambiguous with an unending structural disparity; incremental thriller meets aesthetics throughout the story. Astute, canny plots, with a premise that lacks ingenuity; the underlying concept of this film is centered around psychology, sociology, and human pattern behavior as a collective group.
Hence, actor Will Smith, mentioned the "hammer and nail" metaphor his father infused in his head during adolescence---- by elaborating analogically a sort of false dichotomy; meaning, either you're a hammer or nail----attributed to malevolent vs benevolent.
Yielding to superiority or admonishing inferiority. The pickpocketing were unrealistic and amplified to induce our fictional imagination; ironically, it exist on a less complicated level. There were some academic effort behind the embryonic stages of this production, and definitely an interesting movie to watch.
Magnificent!
