Review of Focus (2014) by Rusty A — 06 Jul 2016
It's a bit better than an average film but unfortunately that's all. It starts off quick and it's intriguing to watch the con artists work the crowds and the it escalates to a great scene halfway through the film with B.
D. Wong. But the scene after that loses all momentum. What keeps you watching after that odd scene is knowing that films like this would have to have some form of tragedy or loss or something to make you want to cheer for the "bad guys" and it has to be better than that scene you just saw.
But in the end, the second half of the movie is predictable and almost boring because you are always suspicious of whether what you're being shown in the film is true or not because they are con artists.
In the end this is just an average film that would eventually be forgotten if it weren't for Will Smith being in it.
