Review of Flyboys (2006) by Erik B — 13 Dec 2009
Flyboys is one of those refreshing war movies that I haven't seen in a while. The story is based on real event and surely were changed up a little bit for the big screen however this was still a solid movie in my books.
The two hours and twenty minuted went by quick enough and with few dead spots. The acting isn't the best in the world but it's not horrible either, perhaps with better writing there would have been better acting. I will say I doubt James Franco can stand as a leading man after this. The battle scenes were fun to watch and gave us an idea of how they were back in WWI. With strong CGI for the type of battles and a movie that felt shorter then it is, I feel it's one of the most entertaining war movies i've seen in a while.
