Review of Flyboys (2006) by Ilsa W — 25 Jan 2009
During World War I, young Americans went to France to be fighter pilots in the Lafayette Escadrille. Blaine Rawlings (James Franco) a texan, arrives in France together with a group of other americans with different backgrounds to become fighter pilots. The glamour of being a pilot fades quickly and soon everything is about survival instinct and dealing with death and loss.
"Flyboys" is a reasonably wellmade movie, but the foundation and structure is a bit "silly" and stereotypical at times. The feeling of a.
Historic adventure is as well somewhat unfocused and faded "Flyboys" made no specific impact on me. Ok, but nothing more.
