Review of Flubber (1997) by James B — 14 Nov 2010
Well I really must say, Flubber is nothing more than a useless and stupid film that's filled with failed laughts and horribly written diolouge. In the film, an absent minded proffesor named Philip Brainard(Robin Williams),recently manages to create a flying rubber particle named Flubber and as it turns out. Flubber is able to increase speed, as well as make things bounce to hight levels. However, Philip's life start to almost fall apart after he misses his own wedding and he soon learns that Mayfeild Universities sponsor Chester Hoenicker(Raymond J. Barry) threatens to close Mayfeild collage. So now, Philip uses Flubber to help save the school and to assure the profits for the university. Can Philip save the school and marry the woman he loves before it's too late. Your gonna half to watch it and find out.
Well I really have to say that this film is nothing more than a bunch of cheap gags and unfunny moments that don't work well. The plot is somewhat stupid and it really fails to create a decent story for the audience. The acting was really pathetic and the plot is almost predictable. This is also a big disapointment from Robin Williams, who btw is a humorous actor. He fails to give his character the intensity and emotion he brings to all of his characters from other films and it's just one suckish piece of diolouge to another. And will some of the visuals are excellent, it tends to be incredibly boring. My tomatometer rating is a 41 precent. Flubber, in my opinion, is worth skipping, is another lame live action Disney movie, and is a bucket load of failed comedy.
