Review of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) by Robert D — 17 Aug 2016
Offspring and I saw this. We were both delighted. Streep has outdone herself. Jenkins really existed, and she was really panned by the critics the only time she appeared in Carnegie Hall. Streep gives her depth.
Hugh Grant puts in a workmanlike performance as her husband. The accompanist is best when he shows up late after being mugged by sailors on his way to the concert.
