Review of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) by Jaime L — 04 Mar 2017
It is a very dull affair, I cared nothing for the characters or the story. I got a couple of chuckles when Streep started singing but once the surprise wore off it quickly moved from humorous to simply being full of cringe.
Meryl Streep got a Best Actress nomination for her role here and I can only believe that it is just her getting a nod for showing up like the Academy often does with her. This has to be a perfect example of "ACTING", there was nothing nuanced to her character at all, simply a loud performance is a deadly quiet movie.
Very forgettable, give it a few years and people will forget this even exists, those few who are even aware of it now.
