Review of Florence Foster Jenkins (2016) by Petros T — 18 Jun 2016
A small but entertaining film brought to life but the well-chosen protagonistic trio of Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and the amusing Simon Helberg. The main joke of the opera singer who can't sing is used bountifully without becoming tiresome, mostly thanks to Streep's delightful performance.
The moving finale, executed elegantly by Streep and Grant, was definitely a high point. It's a film that never really becomes fascinating but remains a worthwhile effort.
