A massive storm causes a huge surge of water to FLOOD THE THAMES BARRIER, AND WIPE OUT LONDON! [the East & South East is also wasted, but who cares, as they are NOT LONDON!).
Only Robert Carlyle's Mockney-Marine-Engineer / all-round-hero can save the day, along with his Canadian-wife-you're-sure-you've-seen-somewhere-else, plus his mad old Professor Dad.
