Review of Flood! (1977) by Kevin F — 30 Dec 2007
Weak CGI, limp acting and a failure to understand the basics of disaster films cripple this Day After Tomorrow remake. London gets turned into Venice - wow. We want to see destruction and peril, and see neither. The lights go off in parliament, that's about as destructive as it gets.
The typical story of the one maverick scientist who can actually predict what all the other experts and his estranged son - who has an estranged wife; all of whom happen to work in the flood defence industry... bores.
"London will survive" says the deputy PM of this country where there are only scattered hamlets between the capital and the the Scottish metropolis of Wick.
Laughably bad in parts, with little to recommend it.
