Review of Flood! (1977) by Jani K — 02 Apr 2008
Unavoidably, Flood will be compared to the Day After Tomorrow, which I believe is what Tony Mitchell wanted, or the marketing people wanted, judging from the poster. But frankly, TDAT wasn't a good movie at all. I mean, certainly it worth you to go in to enjoy their special effects, which was the reason it made a lot of money. However, Flood is an independent-made movie, surely you wouldn't expect it will make big dollar out of it?
Alright, the special effects weren't bad, though there were times you could spot irrationalities. Acting, terrible. That guy looked like a mix of Richard Hammond and Daniel Craig, which is not good. Storyline, dreadful. No sketch of character relationship whatsoever, loads of goofs: if the fighter could blew the barrier up in the first place, why would that 4 idiots took a helicopter there to open the gate?
