Review of Floating Skyscrapers (2013) by Alan W — 16 Oct 2013
A Polish remake/update/wannabe Brokeback Mountain but with less finesse and tons more ponderous scenes of characters staring broodingly into mid-air and... tracking shots. God, the director loves his tracking shots.
That is not to say there aren't anything good here: there are some decent jump shots and underwater shots; the photography is pretty and the script (just about) makes sense and keeps it real. But in the end, the film just drags and bums you out so bad that it's just not an easy film to like or even recommend.
