Review of Flirting (1991) by Bryan B — 09 Jun 2008

Was a bit frustrated while watching the movie. too much of the Noah Taylor character who was the least fascinating of the bunch and the least talented of the main actors. I was far more interested in Thandie Newton's character & Nicole Kidman! they had very interesting personalities and played their characters to perfection! I'd also like to note Naomi Watts small role in this film! she was quite the cutie back then! but that's besides the point.. haha.

I admire this film for being different and I do like that it's not formulaic with today's movies. however, the plot is just not that interesting for me. we have too many characters, most of the guys all blend in. their all bullies except for the few nerds.. the teachers are way too strict. but I guess that's the way it was back then.

For me, I heard alot of good things about this movie so I had high hopes & I was a bit disappointed.. and these have got to be some of the least believable backgrounds in television ever. the characters are soo real and the backgrounds seem like your in a dreamland in some parts. very bad mix.
