Review of Flipped (2010) by Niken N — 26 May 2011
The film has its charms. It's a cute movie. The lead child actors do a fine job, and it has a stellar supporting cast. While I found the film interesting, it never rose above the pastiche of its setting or the gimmick of dueling points of view to reveal a true emotional core.
It's Rob Reiner's best movie in years, but it just doesn't capture the magic of his earlier work like STAND BY ME, THE PRINCESS BRIDE, or WHEN HARRY MET SALLY....
