A subtler script would have made Flipped much sweeter, engaging and more resonating, but as it is, the movie's just rather mediocre. Rob Reiner's fantastic directorial sensibilities make the film solid, but the cringeworthy dialogue/voiceovers kill key moments in the film.
It's good enough, but Flipped doesn't hold a candle to what made some of Reiner's previous films so magical. However, the Lord of the Rings fan from Clerks 2 playing a retard is a big plus.
