Review of Flipped (2010) by Anna H — 16 Jan 2011
Man, I thought this could be a return to form for rob reiner, but I wish he could do this one over again. I really liked the cinematography, which is I guess what attracted me from the preview, and the story was sweet, but the dialogue and the acting were just bad for the most part.
good soundtrack but the songs weren't used very effectively and just randomly show up in scenes like "hey, by the way, this story takes place in the 50s." I guess the back and forth narration between the guy's and girl's point of view seemed like an original idea at first, but it's really annoying and is another thing that killed this movie for me.
pulling a line from the movie itself, it is "much less than the sum of its parts.".
