Review of Flipped (2010) by W. W — 01 Jul 2011

One of the best movies I have seen. Callan Mcauliffe makes his American movie debut in this wonderful movie about young love. Callan Mcauliffe and Madeline Carrol work superbly well together. Of course, having a well-noted director like Rob Reiner just makes it even better.

I saw the movie because I loved the book, and for those who said it was "predictable", I must agree. However, whoever wrote the script must have read the book cover to cover, because the movie is EXACTLY like the book, in some cases, directly quoting in the book. (I re-read the book three times after I saw the movie to make sure I wasn't going crazy.) Also, there are many well-known actors, ( ie. Rebecca De Mornay, John Mahoney, and Anthony Edwards) makes the movie even better.

I think that the only reason Flipped itself didn't do very good regarding the box office sales is because of its lack of advertising. The only reason I found out about the movie at all is because I just decided to Google "flipped" a couple days after I read the book. If it had more advertising on tv, or at least the internet, I can guarantee you it would've made a lot more money. I myself couldn't catch the movie in the theaters because it went in and out in a second, but I bought the DVD as soon as I could. I have it watched it tons of times, even bringing it to friends' houses to watch, all of which loved it.

Like I said, one of the best movies I've ever seen. Most critics probably wouldn't like it because of the fact there was no nudity, sex, drugs, and hardly any cursing in the movie, but I think-- no I KNOW this is my favorite movie of all time and will be like that forever.
