Review of Flintown Kids (2005) by Dj J — 10 Nov 2010
This documentary might not interest you if you dont like basketball. But, if you like basketball, then this documentary will give you a very informative snapshot into what it takes for young guys and NBA Stars like Glen Rice, Mateen Cleaves, Morris Peterson, and even Lebron James to make it from rags to riches.
Flint seems to be all about basketball for many African Americans starting at the young age of 2 even. Proceed with caution though, a few scenes in this documentary are tragic and disturbing to watch because they tell a not so pretty story.
I really liked this documentary and it really enlightened me. I love basketball and this was a interesting film altogether. I really got to see how young athletes transition to college and to the pro's, and what advantages or disadvantages give them the edge or opportunity to make it.
It really is a decent documentary one should see if basketball really interests them.
