Review of Flightplan (2005) by Howie V — 12 Jan 2011
In the hands of a lesser actor Flightplan would be stupid (see Red Eye). When you bring in Jodie Foster things get upgraded to first class - act accordingly. Sarsgaard and Bean should've switched roles; more bang for the buck.
I like the "Jodie Foster Collection" except for, maybe, the one where she locks herself in that room...have to watch that one again? She get's to show all her stuff in this movie. It must be tough.
Where do you go from Silence of the Lambs? The Edge (U2's celebrated guitarist) said that the challenge has been making their current work stand up to the work they've done in the past (e.g. The Joshua Tree) because, "This stuff goes away.
" It's clear that Foster refuses to lose her "edge." The woman can act. If they milked those Jodie Foster moments any longer they'd go back in time. Thumb up!
