Review of Flightplan (2005) by Marisa D — 04 Nov 2010
Out of all the films that have been labeled "Hitchockian", "Flightplan" is one that actually fits the bill, housing many of the director's sensibilities. While it's never as thrilling or inventive as Alfred Hitchcock's pictures, Robert Schwentke does a fine job of creating a tense atmosphere.
"Flightplan" is slickly shot and Jodie Foster, as the wronged woman, plays her part effectively. Unfortunately, the story is just not exciting enough to truly, deeply, entertain. While the visual skill and Foster's performance make "Flightplan" worth seeing, it's not something terribly memorable.
