Review of Flightplan (2005) by Mouhannad S — 30 Mar 2011
"Flightplan" stars Jodie Foster as a mother whose daughter vanishes on a flight from Berlin to America. The premise is excellent as the audience has to question themselves as much as Foster's character Kyle Pratt.
I was expecting much more action from this movie. It has an inherently stressing situation being filmed in an airplane. Nevertheless I felt an extreme stinginess from the movie makers in regard to action supplying. I know that they preferred to enhance the psychological domain, but as it has been shown in a previous movie of Foster, The Room, it can be combined perfectly.
It's a pretty good film that can do that, and so this one will keep your interest and you won't feel you've wasted the time even after you realize it could never happen as it did. It's also fun to watch Jodie Foster perform rings around all the other adult characters.
