Flight of the Phoenix boasts a talented cast and some good thrills but it ultimately lacks any plot or creativity. As the plane begins to crash, pieces fly off the plane and just happen to hit the vital parts of the plane and spare all the things needed to build a new plane, so its almost like the plane is being used to further the plot rather than the writers.
Among other things, there is a general lack of original antagonism and feeling to incorporate anyone into the interest of the movie.
