Review of Flight of the Navigator (1986) by Stephen F — 22 Nov 2007
Watched this today for the first time in 20 years, and I have to say it has aged well. It has an interesting and detailed plot for a childrens film, a likeable cast and the visual effects still hold up, impressive when one considers they all had to be done optically.
One of the most memorable elements of the film for me as a child was the superb score by Alan Silvestri which sounds as epic now as it did in 1986. While I would not consider the film to be the best of the 80`s, anyone with a nostalgic hankering for it should give it another go.
They are unlikely to be dissapointed.
