Review of Flight of the Navigator (1986) by Jason L — 23 Nov 2007
'80s goodness. Ah, yes. There was an abundance of creativity in the minds of fantasy screenplay writers, and it produced some great titles that would not, and could not be made today. Our demand for logic and explanation in our stories prohibits that.
If there was anything in this movie that was a little much, I would say it would be the corny dialog that comes, as soon as you first hear "the Pee-Wee Herman voice." Despite my feelings on that, it was at least a plot point that made some sense.
Max (the computer) needed to use relevant language to communicate with Davy. Overall, I loved this movie the first time I watched it, and continue to do so. I think that, with the right director, an awesome remake (or sequel) could be made of Flight of the Navigator.
