One of the best family films ever made!!! The story is highly creative and entertaining, lil' Joey Cramer impresses the screen, the special effects still hold up amazingly well to this day and the concept/design of the alien ship is so damn awesome! Also, the soundtrack is addictive!! Whether it's Alan Silvestri's score or The Beach Boys.
I also appreciate screenwriters who aren't afraid of skipping the shit, and keeping to the point. This movie ( much like the alien ship, itself) is extremely fast moving, and the flight is over with before you even realize it.
