Review of Flight of the Navigator (1986) by Max W — 03 Jun 2009
You call that storytelling? Oof. The premise is awesome (kid gets knocked out, wakes up and it's eight years later) -- what follows is a complete mess. The story is completely overshadowed by special effects, which are no better than other movies of the mid-80s.
I remember this being one of the first memories of movies I have -- the kid coming back to his house to find someone else living in it. That is just downright freaky. I wish I had remembered how thin the rest of it was.
