Review of Flight of the Navigator (1986) by James M — 28 Mar 2010
80's sci-fi adventure that rivals ET and Back To The Future in its awe and wonder. Although the decision to have Paul Rubens , aka Pee Wee, do the voice of Max, and the 80's music, clothing and hairstyles make it very much a product of its time, the alien abduction theme and conspiracy elements (esp.
in the first half) kind of anticipated the X-Files and other sci-fi of the following decade. The dazzling FX and cinematography, quirky dialogue, upbeat soundtrack, cool humor and fast-pace make this a sci-fi classic set under the Florida sun.
