Review of Flight of the Navigator (1986) by Lady D — 12 Jul 2011
Good concept, not entirely executed to its best potential. The set up of the story (a boy loses 8 years of his life in a second and doesn't recognize the world around him) is good. The problem is once they get to the future, it gets bogged down in the whole NASA stuff.
Once the kid reaches the ship, he flies around a bit, and it doesn't seem to have much of an aim. The actual ship was interesting (inside & out) with it sleek, giant almond design but once again it didn't get to do much since it is a relatively short movie.
