Review of Flight (2012) by Timothy G — 31 Jul 2013
Flight is a powerful story that goes beyond the trauma of a plane crash. Denzel Washington rightfully earns himself an Oscar nomination with his performance as Captain Whitaker who crash lands the plane with minimal fatalities.
It is his battle with alcohol that is at the centre of the movie as investigations lead from him being a hero to a villain. Supporting roles come in the form of a brilliant John Goodman and a very real performance from Kelly Reilly as an addict trying to turn her life around.
A great film from Robert Zemeckis.
