Review of Flight (2012) by Paul J — 25 Jun 2013
Zemeckis makes a surprisingly adult film about an alcoholic. Washington is flawless and the script consistently surprises. The first act contains a jaw-dropping disaster moment but the rest of the film is equally interesting, There's a clear spiritual message here and the audience is continuously challenged as to how to feel.
It's first-rate dramatic filmmaking that follows the Hero's Journey perfectly.
