Review of Flicka (2002) by Marci P — 05 Dec 2009
A terrific movie for the horse girl or the girl with a horse at heart. Or, anyone who has a dream that takes work to achieve.
A passionate story about a girl and her family being seperated by different beliefs. 16 year old Katy wants to run the family ranch while her brother Howie wants to go to college. Their father wants Howie to love the ranch like Katy does and he wants Katy to go to college.
Katy finds a wild mustang whom she captures and calls her own. When she goes behind her fathers back to train it and has a bad spill, he decides its time that the animal is sold to a local rodeo man. She comes up with a diabolical plan to win her back with the help of Howie.
Will she get it back? If she does, how will her family react?
