Review of Fletch (1985) by Gwenllian L — 13 May 2008
The role Chevy Chase was born to play and pretty much the only good movie in his career of bad ones, this is quite a good mystery-comedy with Chase as Fletch, the journalist of a thousand names and even more disguises.
Something about drug smuggling, corrupt cops, and a bigamist tied up in everything, the plot really doesn't matter - the fun comes from watching Fletch switch between stories and identities as he motormouths his way through various encounters with some very bad people.
Funny stuff that still holds up today, though the sequel is nowhere near as great.
