This movie didn't suck. I find that Chevy Chase tends to deliver the material well to a point then he becomes a really big dick head, and reminds everyone that they are watching a movie. That may sound odd, but when you are watching a movie you don't want the actor's practically winking at you when they say a line.
The mystery works, and most of the jokes would have worked in the 80's, right now, not so much.
