Review of Fletch (1985) by Brian C — 08 Sep 2012
Hilarious from start-to-finish. Chevy Chase is very hit-and-miss, but Fletch was absolutely perfect for him. The brilliance of the movie is that the plot is intriguing and dead serious, but Chevy Chase is in every scene, and at no point does he stop being his riotously smarmy self, even at gunpoint.
Fletch is as funny, quotable, and rewatchable as 80's comedies get. It's one of my favorite films of all time, based on sheer entertainment value alone.
