A cult classic with mainstream success, for very good reason.

Chevy Chase doesn't expand on his acting potential too much when he plays Fletch, it's literally like watching any other character he's ever played enduring the given circumstances of the film.

I rate this film so highly because it's one of the few movies in existence that could conjure laughter when it intends to and didn't dwell on (non-existent) scenes that didn't make any sense. For every scene that left me asking about a detail of the ongoing plot, there was a subsequent scene involving Fletch humorously exploring exactly what I was wondering.

The ending was a little too convenient, but still welcome.
