Review of Flashbacks of a Fool (2008) by Jk F — 20 Apr 2008
There's quite a lot to like about this film: it looks good, the soundtrack is pretty cool, it has some interesting and thought-provoking things to say. Oh, and Daniel Craig gets naked ;-).
But although you can work it out for yourself, it doesn't quite deliver the emotional connection between the choices Joe made as a teenager and the life he has come to regret.
If you're of an appropriate age you will probably come out of the cinema thinking back to the things you did and the decisions you made as a teenager and how, simple as they were at the time, they have actually shaped your life in unexpected ways.
The trouble is you may not really feel as involved in this film's characters and their choices as you should be.
