Review of Flashbacks of a Fool (2008) by Richard C — 02 May 2008
This is a beautiful film, that while slow in places, is a great combination of visuals, music and acting. A lack of movement in character arcs and any kind of real development for main character Joe in particular make this film come up a bit short. Still I really liked lots of it. Its a great picture of a man at a real crossroads moment.
People who hate slow films should avoid it. Devotees of David Bowie, Brian Ferry, and/or Daniel Craig's bum should rush to the cinema.
