I seem to be seeing a lot of these 'coming of age ' movies nowadays. Nevertheless, this one had the potential to be so much more. The plot was good but the characters just weren't developed enough for the viewer to feel an attachment towards them. Its a touching portrayal that loses steam somewhere in the middle.
The positives - Daniel Craig is brilliant. Its about time he stopped doing James Bond and moved onto something more suited to his talents.
For all the brick bats, I'd say this one is quite watchable.
