Review of Flash of Genius (2008) by Damion R — 23 Apr 2011
"Flash of Genius" is the true story of Robert Kearns, the man who invented the intermittent windshield wiper but who took twelve years to prove it after the Ford Motor Company stole the idea and claimed it as their own.
How entertaining could a film about a man who invented a windshield wiper be? More than you'd expect. The film is sadly somewhat choppy in its jumps in time, but overall, the film does grab you on a certain level, that whole David-and-Goliath thing, that I still applauded when the verdict was read out.
The usually under-appreciated Greg Kinnear gives yet another fine performance as the man whose invention was stolen.
