Review of Flash of Genius (2008) by Sue B — 04 Oct 2008
This movie actually told the story of my life - my father was an inventor in Detroit who had his ideas stolen while others made money. It was accurate, beautifully acted and made a profound, important statement.
In today's culture, the values of perservance, sacrifice, and acting on principle have been forgotten, replaced by the trivial, cheap thrills, and the desire for instant gratification. This story tells of time when there were other values and it tells it beautifully. The fact that it was not rated higher by reviewers is a sad statement about our society and it's current values.
I hope that this movie will inspire others to remember that the inventors brought to you all the technology you now enjoy - and that when only the rich and powerful win, there will be less innovation because there will be no incentive for those who do so to put in the time and effort.
There is a saying "A patent is just a ticket to a lawsuit." Unfortunately, this is only too true. This was a great movie!!!
