Review of Flags of Our Fathers (2006) by Ben D — 13 Apr 2010
To be honest, I was a little disappointed. Flags of Our Fathers did not necessarily focus on the American perspective during the battle on Iwo Jima, but rather what was happening back in America, like advertising the war bonds.
It is a war movie, but there was not enough 'war' in the movie for me to be satisfied. Sometimes I got bored. But overall, Flags of Our Fathers is an accurate representation of America during WWII and is a satisfactory tribute to those who fought on Iwo Jima.
