Review of Fiza (2000) by Kris M — 06 Nov 2007
There is no doubt that Lolo is Fiza n Fiza is indeed Lolo..Then there is Hrithik the backbone of the film even though the film is a heroine oriented(ladies)tailormade film for Karishma. The best thing of the film is the terrific dew fresh Neha who rocks n to a small extent the item(if u can call it that)number done by Sush.
The worst thing about the film is undisputedly the director Khalid Mohammed or is it Mohammed Khalid(not that it matters really).Towards the end the climax is too shallow...Seems either Khalid got too busy editing the next issue of Filmfare or writing the next week reviews for his publication or else just got amply bored and left for another international film festival..Most probably all three n worse he seems to have lost the plot n didn't know how to wrap it up...The bottom line is that Jaya Bachchan is simply wasted.Even Farida Jalal or Sushma Seth cud have done her role n nobody wud have missed Jaya...cos there was virtually little for her to do in it...Wonder if Khalid cud subject his own baby to the same ruthless butchering that he specialises in for other movies in his capacity as a film critic?
