Review of Five Minutes of Heaven (2009) by Lindy L — 11 Sep 2009
This was another recent preview screening I attended with director Oliver Hirschbiegel and actor Liam Neeson. this is a minor film in a growing canon of Irish "troubles" movies. very much an indie film in its look and execution.
it is really a character study of the two men whose lives are forever marked by a youthful tragedy perpetuated by one onto the other's family. Neeson gives a solid performance as the guilt-ridden assassin while Nesbitt is both hilarious and intense (can that be in a serious film as this?) as the victim's brother who was blamed for failing to act in order to save his kin.
