Powerful. The tenuous connection between these two men keeps you riveted until the very end. A heartless crime has kept them intimately tethered to one another both mentally and emotionally their entire lives until finally, mercifully, the string is broken.

Ultimately, the "victim" realizes that in surviving and persevering, in the blessings of his wife and children, in simply being a good and decent man, it is he who is the victor. It is he who has always held the power.
