Review of Five Minutes of Heaven (2009) by Joshua H — 18 Feb 2011
Tense drama about the conflict of Northern Ireland in the 70's. A child witnesses the murder of his brother and his life and the life of the murderer change forever. Twenty five years later they decide to meet as a part of a reconciliation program, but one of them is not yet ready.
This is an interesting insight into the effects of violence, trauma and hatred in young minds, also a good look into the irish conflict. Some bits feel a bit insincere but in the overall it is a good movie with excellent and moving performances from the two main characters.
