Review of Five Minutes of Heaven (2009) by Chiek E — 04 Jul 2013
Incredibly well acted by Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt about their meeting after Neeson murdered Nesbitt's older brother, a crime that caused incredible suffering both for the perpetrator and the victim.
For Neeson, it was 12 years of imprisonment and the torment of his conscience knowing there Nesbitts hated him deeply. For Nesbitts, its the loss of his brother, the blame he got from his mother for not saving his brother and the years consumed by hatred for the perpetrator.
The meeting, while hardly congenial ended up in a fist fight between the two. The break through in the animosity and beginning of emancipation began when Neeson reminded that Nesbitt should save his all consuming animosity and focus on his two precious daughters.
Once Nesbitt stopped hating Neeson and only want to be the best father to his two precious daughter was when Neeson was finally set free from the clutches of Nesbitt's hatred.
