Review of Five Easy Pieces (1970) by Rodney E — 12 Oct 2008
Pure gold from the 70's. Talk about the age of the American auteur. Here we have Jack Nicholson as a true rebel and one of the great performances. He plays a worker who actually comes form a well off family and was once a piano prodigy but threw it away to live his life.
This is some great Nicholson. Dig the classic "I want you to hold it between yoru knees" dinner scene. Nicholson was stoned on hash for the final conversation with his father. Five Easy Pieces is a wonderful movie.
