Review of Five Easy Pieces (1970) by Rocknblues 8 — 07 Jun 2010
Pre-Cuckoo Nicholson. He's more subtle, contemplative...and realistic. The result is profound.
It's about a talented but ambition-less drifter and his squandered potential. Bleak. Sparse. Carefully acted.
I love this film because it's a kind of anti-blockbuster that actually takes time to study the character. The ending is perfect for the film.
If you liked Transformers, however, you'll probably hate this!
